Because of the increase in business & need for a more professional look, I have decided to upgrade my website. Okay.. here it is.. my next to last official posting on this website before I launch my new website!! YIPEEE!! I am so glad that I am posting this shoot as my official signoff b/c I feel like I can really go out with a bang. I am flipped over the way this shoot turned out! This is the sweetest mom/daughter shoot ever!!! It definitely made me so thankful for my little girl, Ellison (ironically this precious little girl's name is ellison too!) Anyhow, for those of you who have princesses of your own, look out... this will melt your heart... :) Okay... stay tuned... my next posting will be my official last on this site. I really think this was family #7 that I have shot in the same neighborhood & they have all been fantastic to work with! The Nadlers were no exception! One of the things that I loved the most was that their kids were exactly the same age as mine & it made me feel right at home when I was working with them:) CUTE CUTE, CUTE is all I have to say!!

whew!! I feel like it has been AGES since I have actually posted a shoot. I took some well-needed time off during christmas to be with my husband & kids but I am really glad to be back in business! These next pictures are from an all-day shoot that I did in columbia, sc in early december. A friend of mine from college arranged to do it at a horse farm & there were 7 families that came throughout the day to have their pictures taken. The weather started out foggy & freezing (which made for some very cool pictures!) By then end of the day it was sunny & beautiful which made for a good variety of pictures. Each shoot was very unique... you almost would not have known we were at the same farm in all of the shoots. Although it took me a while to post these I think it was well worth the wait:) Stay tuned for some very cool things coming in 2009 including some brand new equipment & a new name & website!!! guys, really... Audra is definitely what I would categorize as a "super mom!" We were invited over to her house a few months ago for a playdate & you would have thought we had stepped into Martha Stewart's house... only better. She had prepared a spread for the kids that made Chuck-E-Cheese look like a vegetable diner. It was complete with pre-cut grapes, homemade sweets, popcorn, & muffins, you name it & it was there!!! Audra did not disappoint us for this shoot either. When her family rolled up for the shoot she was wheeling behind her a wagon filled with props. Not just any props, we are talking EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink! A red wagon, red chair, red bench, hats, scarves, gloves, stockings, pillows, blankets, snacks... LITERALLY everything. Audra, you are one on a kind! Def. the kind of mom that I say to myself.. "how does she do it all?" I love your beautiful family & I loved spending the morning with you all. I hope you enjoy these pictures of your family who obviously loves & appreciates you very much!

AAAHHHH!!! This was so much fun!! Last monday I met up with 2 sororoity sisters of mine from college & their families. Ashley & I were in the same pledge class & Beth married Ashley's brother. Make sense? Small world, but I am so glad it is. Ashley now lives in Birmingham & was in town for Thanksgiving & her brother's family now lives in Columbia. We met in Rock Hill on this absolutely perfect day! I LOVE fall pictures & these are the epitomy of fall pictures. I think it is so precious that these siblings would want to have their pictures taken together... I just loved it! I think you will have no doubt how much fun these families have together once you check out these pictures... enjoy!!:)

this shoot was so much fun that I could not stop!!! I just kept shooting, & shooting, & shooting...:) Charlie & Kate's grandmother came along to get in some of the shots & the ones of them together turned out so sweet.. definitely lifelong keepers:) It was such a special day of playing with mom & grandma.. the way life should be. These kids were full of spunk! I love the shot below where Kate is posing like the mermaid who lives in her backyard. And Charlie's smile.... ohhhhh, these kids should be models!!

It was FREEZING the day that we did this shoot but little Will hung in there! His little nose & cheeks were as red as rudolph's but you would never know it by that bright smile on his face! I LOOOOOVVVVEEEE cousin shoots!!! These kids are the epitomy of cute! My friend, Amanda, started a company called Rik-Rak (http://www.rik-rak.com) so of course they were all dressed alike in rik-rak attire from head to toe. It was so much fun to see these cousins interact & how much they loved each other. They are all so close in age that I am sure they will have so many funny stories to tell of growing up together for years to come:) Chris (my husband) & Matt (father of 3 out of the 4 boys) went to the citadel together so maybe one day these boys will even grow up to be cadets:) - SCARY!!! is what I call this family. These floridian natives are now stationed in Charleston for the next few years. Not shabby, huh? I took them to one of my "hot spots" in Mt. Pleasant for this shoot.. Alhambra Hall. I grew up right down the street from this park & always thought it was so beautiful! I have wanted to do a shoot here for some time so I was thrilled when they agreed to meet here. It was everything I thought it would be & more. This family was adorable together! I really don't know which pictures were my favorites.. the ones of little sis with big brothers or the big family huddle.. what do you think????? I know... too hard to choose....:)

I know.. that is totally cheesy, but is IS the South Carolina motto, isin't it??? That is seriously how I feel about Charleston. These pictures remind me of everything that I love & miss about Charleston. I LOVE the coast & living on the water. I LOVE the people that we left behind there too. This family is no exception. I met Mandy YEARS ago when we were both single & silly. We were Young Life volunteers & we had more fun than you can imagine together. Everything about Mandy completely reminds me of those days... I met Chris at YL so it is all good memories! Anyhow, we did this shoot at Adam's parents house.... talk about a photographers dream come true! Their son, Harrison, was unbelieveable. As I was going through these pictures, I noticed a common theme... his tongue was always out!!! It was histerical! Seriously.. every other picture... to me that is a true sign of happiness! Who wouldn't be the happiest little boy ever if they had parents like this?? The only thing missing in these pictures is a big Chick-fil-A cow in the background. Mandy & Adam, what do you think?? Ha ha!!! I loved meeting Harrison & being with you guys!

but I call him Lightning. I mean this boy was FAST!!!! We set him down on the ground to take some "natural" shots of him & away he ran.. again & again & again!!! We had to literally strap him into his wagon to take his picture! The best part about Little John is that he belongs to my friend, Caroline. Caroline & I lived together for a while in high school so we knew each other very well & she has been like a sister to me for so many years. I absolutely LOVE that Little John is her son. He is like the total package of having a little boy. He is adorable, sweet, 100% boy, & unbelieveably cute! The best part about Caroline & Big John having LJ is that they have not changed their lifestyles at all. They were such a busy couple before they had him & so I always wondered what life would be like for them post child. As far as I can tell... absolutely the same. Everything they do LJ does too... I LOVE it! Caroline, I miss you dearly & I loved getting to spend time with LJ... he really makes me laugh b/c he reminds me of YOU!!!!

well, here they are.. this is MY family!!! Yes, I know.... they are ADORABLE!!! I spend so much time taking pictures of other people's families, I thought I would dedicate this post to our family. We took these pictures on the beach when I went home to Charleston last week. It was so much fun for me to be able to capture our lives together & especially the way that all of the cousins interact. By the end of the shoot, all of the kids were rolling around in the mud - unavoidable with this crew:) They love each other SOO much... it really is sweet! Six of these reindeer are my sister's (I know... CRAZY!) and two are mine. Let me see if I can remember all of their names.. :) Ellison (16 months), Mary Catherine (12), Grey (3), Matthew (13), Chase (3), Hopie(4), Morgan (13), & Noah (20 months). An early MERRY CHRISTMAS from our family to yours!!!!!

That is the best way to describe the afternoon that I spent with little hughes & his family. He was a busy little bee....playing with birdie (the dog), running around in the backyard, & throwing daddy's golf balls. The lighting was beautiful, the trees were beautiful, the weather was beautiful, and of course the family was beautiful! They were so much fun to shoot & so laid back that it really made for a fun fall shoot. Little one year old ladies be on the lookout for Hughes.... he is a heartbreaker for sure...:)

yep. That is exactly how old little (actually there was nothing "little" about him) grant was when I shot these pictures a few weeks ago. Isin't he the cutest, cuddliest thing you have ever seen? I really loved spending the morning with this future president of the United States. Both of Grant's parents have a long list of accomplishments so I can only assume that this little one will in no doubt follow in their footsteps:) Brian & Jenn.. welcome to the "kid club"... parenting this little angel will be sure to top the list of your most prized accomplishments!

hailey & ted(dy)...... the sweetest, kindest, most genuine, wonderful, insanely cute couple that I have ever met... by a mile. We go way back with sweet Hailey.... she used to babysit for my sister in charleston & when she moved to Rock Hill to go to school, we quickly scooped her up for our own:) She worked in DC all last semester so we welcomed her back this year with open arms..:) Because she spends a few days a week at my house watching my kids, we have come to know her & Ted(dy) very well over the past few years. I am sure that most people call Ted by "ted" but I cannot help but call him "Teddy" b/c that is how I think of him.. a big, sweet, loveable teddy bear. When Hailey got engaged I was ecstatic & it has been so much fun to watch the two of them plan their special day. I don't know who loves them more.. me or my kids! Hailey & Teddy...we love you both so much & are so happy for you!!! I am sooooo excited to shoot your upcoming wedding in Charleston.. stay tuned for part 2 of Hailey & Teddy in April...:)

was literally all that I could think about when I did this shoot last friday. I mean seriously, these pictures almost make me tear up b/c they SOOOO remind me of the bond that my sister & I have. There is really NOTHING in this world like a sister:) I mean just look at how much fun they are having together!!!!! I really love this family & I loved the morning that I spent with them. This was supposed to be a Christmas surprise for daddy but he came home during lunch - OOPS!!! Pigtails, giggles, baby dolls, late night talks, secrets, & smelly boys are all that I could think about this morning as I was working on this shoot. If you have a sister (or even 2 girls) then you will LOVE these pictures! I know... these girls are precious...enjoy:)

ashley was one of my first friends here in Charlotte. I joined a playgroup that she was in when our boys were under a year old. Since then the playgroup has quadroupled in size & almost everyone has a second child or one more on the way .. whew!! I cannot believe how old Noah looks in these pictures & how much sweet Ava has grown! It was a super chilly day when these pictures were shot but the kids were such troopers! If any of you need "super fun hip decorating your nursery" advice then check out the pictures below & call Ashley! I know a lot of labor & love went into decorating her kids nurseries so I wanted to be sure to capture every little detail.. hope you love these pictures as much as I love these kids...:)

no, your eyes are not deceiving you... it is the Brown family again (plus aunt Shannon & cousin Mason) - I know.. they only got cuter (if that is possible)! When we booked our first Brown family shoot a few weeks ago, we went ahead & scheduled a cousin shoot for when the boys favorite cousin, Mason was in town. They SOOOO reminded me of my kids when they are with their cousins - they act like brothers & sisters. I was very close to my cousins growing up so this cousin shoot was near & dear to my heart. I know... these kids make it look SOOO easy & you would think we told them exactly what to do but we really just sat back & let them do what they are used to doing... being TOTALLY CUTE! When I first arrived at the shoot I had NO idea that the Natwick family had a FOUR week old - I was pumped! I used to think that newborns were the hardest age to photograph... now they are one my favorites! If you love photography then you will love these photos. really got me in the mood for Santa, sleigh bells, & reindeer this week. The pictures make it look like it was about 50 degrees outside but believe it or not it was about 75-80 degrees (you guys were really good sports!). Lori & I became very close last year b/c our sons were in the same class & now ironically our daughters (who are only 3 months apart) squeal when they see each other too! Lori has been a really great friend to me & I feel like I have known her & Tripp forever. A few months ago I was able to shoot Lori driving in Jimmy Johnson's car going VERY fast WITH Jimmy Johnson (he was the driver - can you imagine? -Scroll way down to see pictures). Definitely a highlight of my photo career. This whole family has become some of our best friends here in Charlotte so shooting their family was an absolute pleasure! Dru with his spiderman webs & Cameron with her nose-picking kept me rolling all morning.....

I am so proud of my mom. Years ago she started a ministry called Drawing Near to God. Each week a group of 200 men & women gather to worship, meet in small groups, listen to her teachings, & participate in prayer ministry. She has written several studies which have gone out not only nationally but internationally (Germany, Indonesia, & England so far). She speaks throughout the year at different churches in the US & was recently asked to speak at Falls Church in D.C.! She also just recently published her first devotional book called Drawing Near to God which is available on her website (http://www.drawingneartogod.com), on http://www.amazon.com, & also in the Forest Hill bookstore in Charlotte, NC. She has also started a new blog which is really cool for a woman in her 50's (www.joanneellison.wordpress.com)!!! When I was home (Charleston) last week she asked me to do a photoshoot for her new website.. boy was I HONORED! Here are some photos of DNG in action. I was a part of the DNG bible study before I moved to Charlotte & boy did this make me miss it!!! This posting is dedicated to my mom.. I am so proud of her!!!

The Roof family lives right down the street from me & Sarah is 100% girl. I usually see her when she is on a walk with her mom or dad & she is as sweet as ever. She so gentle, petite, & sweet like all little girls should be. Did I mention FAST??? When we did this shoot Sarah was EVERYWHERE! I am not even sure how her mom (pregnant w/ little bro) & dad can keep up with her. You can tell she is the apple of her daddy's eye. It is so crazy to think that just a little while from now this family of three will be a family of four!!! Enjoy the 2 on 1 while you have it, Roof family. last weekend was amazing! This was my last hoorah with Sharon (Smitten Photography) before she has her baby so I was super excited to learn & work with her one last time. When I first got there she told me that she had a surprise for me that would be arriving in about 30 minutes. Huh? Who could it be? Chris.. no, he was home with the kids. No clue. About one hour later the mother of the bride pulls up to the church with rollers in her hair (no lie) & out of the back seat pops the bride & who else??? MY BFF FROM HOME (Charleston)!!! I was freaking out!!! I have not seen Allison in FOREVER since she took a new job in Hotlanta as the Young Life area director (you go girl!). She grew up in Concord, NC & I had always heard about her BFF from high school, Stacey, but had never even met her. This bride was none other than the infamous Stacey herself with Allison by her side as her maid of honor! What an aweseome day & what an AWESOME wedding.. I think these pictures speak for themselves & tell the story of those two lovebirds.. they are precious! is the best way to describe Mary Helen. WOW! This girl was AWESOME!!! MH is going to be a leader for sure when she grows up - nothing is stopping her, & I mean nothing! I picked up MH to place her in the grass for my first shot & walked away. When I turned around all I could see was dust... and she's off...:) She had a crawl that resembled a crab or a spider but was as fast as a roadrunner. This kid has spunk!! I LOVED HER! Everything was perfect... the bride had arranged a surprise "first look" private moment with her fireman future husband before the ceremony & he had no idea!!! You know those days when everything just seems to fall into place??? Well.. that is exactly what happened last week when I did this bridal shoot. Natalie called me last week & asked if I would do her bridal shoot. The only problem was that she was moving in a week so we had to squeeze her in & find a place to do her shoot. My friend, Lori, happened to be over & she graciously offered for us to do the shoot in her beautiful backyard. Then... just hours before the shoot, Lori's neighbor, Sarah, offered for us to use her backyard too! Lori & Sarah.. THANK YOU!!! My friend, Sarah, started a company called Brella Baby that is AMAZING!! They have some unbelieveable baby/children things such as stationary, calling cards, birth announcements, etc. She asked me to do a photo shoot for her website last week. I have to admit, I was a bit intimidated. I am used to taking pictures of people but "things" really did send me into orbit. I mean.... with people you just tell them to smile or move this way & that & with "things" they just sort of sit there & want you to make them look pretty.
